Maintenance Loan

For living costs — rent, food, and more. Amount varies based on household income and location.
Disabled Students' Allowance
Based on needs
For students with disabilities, mental health conditions, or specific learning difficulties.
Childcare Grant

For eligible students with dependent children in registered childcare.
Parents' Learning Allowance

Adult Dependants' Grant
Up to £3,354/yr
If an adult depends on you financially while you study, you may qualify for this grant.
How Student Loan Repayment Works
Student loans in the UK are nothing like a traditional bank loan. You only repay when you can afford to — and any remaining balance after 40 years is written off entirely.
Only repay when earning over £25,000/yr
Below the threshold? You pay nothing.
Just 9% of income above the threshold
Earning £30k means ~£37.50/month.
Payments stop if income drops
No penalties, no debt collectors.
Doesn't affect your credit score
It's not a traditional debt.
Balance written off after 40 years
Whatever's left is forgiven.
