BA (Hons) Fashion Design

The BA (Hons) Fashion Design develops the creative, technical and professional skills required to pursue a career in the global fashion and creative industries. The studio-based programme covers design development, visual communication, pattern cutting, garment construction, draping, fashion history, digital design and professional practice. Students work on live briefs, industry-focused projects and a professional placement while developing the technical and creative capabilities needed to produce an industry-ready portfolio and final fashion collection.

Standard degree entry typically requires 112 UCAS tariff points, a relevant Foundation Diploma in Art & Design, a BTEC Extended Diploma or equivalent qualifications, plus four GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including English. Foundation entry typically requires 32 UCAS tariff points or equivalent. Applicants aged 21 or over without traditional qualifications may be considered with at least two years of relevant work experience and an academic interview. Eligible applicants must also participate in an Applicant Day screening and present a digital or physical portfolio demonstrating creative potential and technical alignment. Non-native English speakers typically require IELTS 6.0 or an approved equivalent for direct undergraduate entry.
